Six Ways to Earn More Commissions
If you’re serious about earning an income with your art, then you have to be serious about marketing yourself. If you’re like me, you hate selling… you don’t like rejection, it makes you nervous and you think you’re no good at it. That’s why we’re artists and not salesmen. Fortunately marketing yourself is kind of an art form. :nod: Although I don’t have all the answers, I’d like to share a little of what I’ve learned about the art of marketing ourselves.

I have been on Deviant art for a while and have not met that many people yet. (Mostly because I haven't really tried :p)
But Now I will be more active in this community. I realize now just how important this type of website is for both meeting new people and developing skills.
I will be doing some research about specific topics to draw and write about in the future. If I start now within a few months I should be ready to start on something great.

I think he has very good points and not only his opinions on portfolios but art itself resonate with me. Please read.
So I just had a Heller Mioscopy and I'm feeling good. I'm hopped up on pain meds and am playing FTB.
I will probably do some drawing here to pass the time.
And I will be out by Thursday at the latest.

No problem. I happen to be just starting out with classes and it really brought into perspective how those in my figure drawing class that have been doing it for years and why they talk to me on an equal level even though they are much better at rendering than I currently am.
Oh, and thank you for also adding one of my pictures to your collection.
